Portions, Value, and Ordering Korean Chicken
Menu prices are difficult to compare when one restaurant sells by piece count, another by weight, and another by half or whole chicken. Consider edible meat, cut, coating, sides, and leftovers.
Bone-in and boneless differ
Bone-in pieces may offer more flavour and varied textures. Boneless chicken is convenient but can be breast, thigh, or processed pieces. Ask when the distinction matters.
Half-and-half improves comparison
A split order lets you compare plain fried with one sauce, or soy-garlic with spicy. It also reduces the risk of committing to a sauce that is sweeter or hotter than expected.
Count the complete meal
Included pickled radish, sauces, fries, rice, or banchan affect value. Delivery fees and packaging charges can change the final cost substantially.
Order for the group
A mixed group may prefer one mild option, one spicy option, and sauce on the side. Add sides only after estimating the amount of chicken rather than ordering every category at once.
Quick checklist
- Compare the same cut and format
- Ask what boneless means
- Use half-and-half when available
- Include fees and sides
- Plan mild and spicy options
