Equipment for Korean Chicken at Home
Most Korean chicken recipes need ordinary kitchen equipment. A reliable instant-read thermometer and good heat control are more valuable than specialty branding.
Essential safety tools
Use an accurate food thermometer, separate raw and cooked tongs, stable cutting boards, and heat-resistant gloves or mitts.
For grilling
A grill with controllable zones, clean grates, long tongs, and a lid is sufficient. A basket can help with small pieces but is optional.
For frying
Use a rated electric fryer or a deep, heavy pot with sufficient headroom and an oil thermometer. Never improvise with a shallow pan full of oil.
For sauces and serving
A small saucepan, whisk, mixing bowl, rack, sheet pan, and clean brush cover most tasks. Reserve a separate brush for clean finishing sauce.
Quick checklist
- Buy a good thermometer first
- Separate raw and cooked utensils
- Use a stable frying vessel
- Create grill heat zones
- Skip gadgets that do not solve a real problem
